Hello! I’m Giliane Mansfeldt, a photographer with over 20 years of experience specializing in newborn and family photography. As the founder and lead photographer of Giliane E. Mansfeldt Photography, LLC, my passion lies in capturing the unique and precious moments of each family I work with.
My approach to photography is deeply personal and client-focused. I believe every family has a unique story to tell, and my mission is to create timeless images that reflect those stories with authenticity and beauty. I strive to provide a warm and welcoming environment in my studio, where clients feel comfortable and valued.
Beyond my work behind the camera, I am also dedicated to mentoring and educating aspiring photographers. Through my one-on-one mentoring programs, I help new photographers understand the real ins and outs of the photography business. I share my knowledge and insights through the Savvy Shutterbug online courses and podcast, guiding others to navigate their photography journey with confidence.
Supporting the local art community and giving back to small businesses are also important to me. I believe in the power of community and collaboration, and I’m proud to contribute to the vibrant artistic landscape around me.
Winning photos
This little one was a dream to photograph. I love using natural tones with newborns because it keeps the focus on their delicate features and soft expressions. For this shot, I dressed the baby in a cozy brown outfit that perfectly complemented their peaceful vibe.
Creating a calming environment is key, so I made sure the room was warm and quiet, with soft, natural lighting to highlight those tiny details. It’s all about patience and letting the baby settle into their own rhythm. Once they were comfortable, I was able to capture this serene pose that just melts your heart.
The earthy tones in this image really bring out the baby’s natural beauty, making the photo feel timeless and pure. I always aim to create a space where the baby can feel secure, which allows their little personalities to shine through in the photos.
This moment is such a sweet reminder of how quickly they grow, and I’m so glad I could capture it.
