One Hundred and Twenty-First Collection
I have been creating maternity portraits for over forty years, and I believe that experimenting with new techniques is essential to keep growing as an artist. I love using color to create unusual and contemporary images, while always maintaining an elegant and essential style.
To celebrate Veronica's pregnancy, I wanted a portrait with strong visual impact. I used two stripboxes with red gels placed behind the subject to create depth, while the main light, modified with a blue gel and positioned frontally, sculpted her face and body with an almost cinematic atmosphere.
But technique alone is never enough. The most important element is always the person in front of the lens: every maternity shoot must be an authentic experience, one where a woman feels beautiful, strong and welcomed.
For me, photographing a pregnancy is a true act of love โ a way to celebrate the waiting, the transformation, and the arrival of a new life, creating an eternal memory of one of the most precious moments in existence.
A portrait of this beautiful little lady Mila. The combination with the old camera works really well.
Through maternity photography, I tell the profound beauty of a woman who brings new life into the world. Nothing is more powerful or wonderful.
For Ombretta's portrait, I chose simplicity: a white backdrop lit by two stripboxes and a soft frontal light, creating a bright, timeless image. A simple white silk drape, moved by a fan, became part of the scene โ almost an extension of the expectant mother's body and energy.
But the heart of my work is always the connection: making Ombretta feel at ease, guiding her gently through each movement, and letting her feel like an active part of the creative process.
That is where photography truly begins โ and it is in that moment that a single shot captures all the magic, strength and femininity of motherhood.
A loving moment between expectant mother and big sister โ full of anticipation, closeness and family bonding amidst a tranquil natural setting.
Three generations. One same love.
A grandmother, a mother, and their daughters.
Different stages, but the same glow.
The same smile. The same strength.

Some photos are beautifulโฆ
and some remind you that love existed long before the first hug.
Waiting for you, dreaming of you, loving you before even meeting you.
Because some connections begin long before birth.
Between silence and closeness, a moment of pure connection unfolds. This intimate black-and-white portrait captures the deepest bond between mother and newborn โ gentle, honest, and timeless. The soft contours and minimal light draw the viewerโs eye entirely to love, trust, and the beginning of a new life.
Who said milk belongs only in bottles?
Sometimes it holds the sweetest memories of a childhood that passes far too quickly.
An intimate moment between father and newborn โ full of love, security, and tenderness. Shot in black and white, the image radiates peace and emotional closeness.
