Sienna had the most amazing hair! She came to the studio for dance photos. As this dress has also been used in some other dance sessions from the same dance studio, we went with a more timeless pose this time. We also thought she looked like a young Nicole Kidman in this shot ;-)
Summer shootings tend to be all the same: My clients want me to shoot them on stunning outdoor locations. Often these pictures are perfect the way they are, because of these locations. But for me, the real "art" of a professional photographer is, to get these stunning pictures with even "less" but only light. On this hot but thundery summer day we had the choice between out- or indoor. But this beautiful mom-to-be has chosen an indoor shoot: thank you for that! I love the lighting setup here... And oh: her posing!
This sweet sisters! They are all about taking care of each other. Early mornings I find are just the best for photographing young children. It seems to be their best time of the day and there is less distraction as fewer people are out. This location is the entrance to a subdivision. When I saw this giant rock I just loved having it for the girls to sit on. I used my Nikon D4S and a long prime lens to capture this sweet moment!
When stunning Sveya came into my studio all curled up with her perfect itty bitty features and that stunningly thick dark hair, I knew I was in for one fun session with so many cute idea's up my sleeve!
Though mum had one request, which was something "butterfly" ... and Butterfly I did :)
You wouldn't know it from looking at this photograph, but this sweet baby was not a fan of being photographed! I first attempted to photograph her at 9 days old, and then had to do a re-shoot a few days later. Persistence paid off! She ended up being putty in my hands for the re-shoot! Her parents and I were so happy with her images, and this one was my personal favourite.
