I call this image "the magic of my childhood christmas". Christmas Minisessions have a very long tradition in my studio history. I shoot x-mas sessions ever since the first clients asked me for and I'm obsessed with them. For the past two years I've been doing them in early October already, since you never know these times... and all my clients are totally thankful for that. The pictures I take every year of my little clients have become a huge family event for them. That's what makes them so special. I can see "my" clients growing up which is also wonderful. So, I could never be wihtout my x-mas minis, even though it's kind of exhausting sometimes shooting almost 100 families in this short time. But receiving so much positive feedback or seeing their christmas cards, makes it all worth.
Baby Emery's nursery is decorated in classic Winnie the Pooh and pinks. Lucky for me I happened to have a few Winnie the Pooh lovies including this little Piglet. Combined with this gorgeous wrap it made the perfect little image to be displayed in her nursery. I love the peeking toes.
Cold and warm colours - we love the exciting contrast between the cold tones of the nature and the warm tones of the model’s skin, hair and eyes in this image! But the most important part of successful shoot is a connection between the photographer and the model as it was the case this time.
Two different moments of a woman before and after birth are mirrored in contrasted black and white.
Alternate details on her face reveal contrasting emotions: joy and tiredness, dream and worry.
Thus the mirror becomes a link between the expectations of the past and the answers of her future.
